Our Mission

Elyxir strives to provide unequaled distribution services to our customers and outstanding marketing for our suppliers. To achieve this level of excellence we have built an environment that empowers our people and creates a rewarding place to work. Success in these activities assures superior financial performance.

Elyxir Distributing is majority owned and managed by brothers, Skip and Glenn Ely. After college they both started their careers in the Silicon Valley hi-tech industry; Skip in engineering and Glenn in sales and marketing. In 1989 after a number of years together in a high tech startup now public and quite large they acquired Filice Distributing, a small company in Santa Cruz.

Over the next nine years, Elyxir acquired six other beverage distribution businesses and partnered with Rossi Distributors resulting in today's company…one of only two major beverage distributors covering the three counties in the Monterey Bay Area. Skip, the CEO, focuses on the Delivery, Warehouse and Information Systems areas while Glenn, the President, concentrates on Marketing, Sales and Administration functions.

Elyxir Distributing, LLC has been involved with many charities, both directly and indirectly through our customers. We have been a major sponsor of the Rudolph F. Monte Foundation for over 9 years. The Monte Foundation gives thousands of dollars each year to area schools to help fund sports and other programs. We have been involved with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for over 15 years. We participate in the Halloween donation drive and have collected over $15,000 for the charity. We regularly give beverages/soft drinks to Second Harvest Food Bank and also participate in their holiday food drives. We also contribute to many locally created retailer charity events as well, from golf tournaments to car shows to concerts, with donations of both money and beverages.

Our benefit package includes several levels of insurance packages with medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Depending on the insurance package chosen, we also include either an HSA (Health Savings Account) or an FSA (Flexible Spending Account). Recognizing that everyone needs to prepare for their future, we have long offered a 401(k) plan with company match and free financial advisors. Additionally, we have recently added a 125 Cafeteria Plan that incorporates pre-tax savings for qualified Child Care expenses and insurance premiums.
